THE pro-hunting son of rock star Bryan Ferry has been charged with attacking and robbing two women hunt monitors.

Otis Ferry, aged 25, was charged this week after an alleged incident which took place while he was out riding with the Heythrop Hunt in Guiting Power on November 21, 2007.

He was arrested on suspicion of robbery after it was claimed that he took a video camera being used to film the hunt by two monitors from the footwell of a car.

He is also alleged to have grabbed a pair of car keys from a hunt monitor who sustained bruising to her arms and shoulder.

Gloucestershire police spokesman Matt Ford, said: "We can confirm that a 25-year-old man from Shrewsbury, in Shropshire, has been charged with robbery and common assault.

"He will appear before Cheltenham Magistrates' Court on May 7. This follows an incident in Gloucestershire in November last year."

Police are also searching for an unknown second man said to have been involved in the same incident who smashed the window of the car. Mr Ford added: "The other man has still not been identified and we would be grateful for any information the public might be able to provide in this matter."

Otis Ferry has made a name for himself as a passionate pro-hunt campaigner and was part of a group of activists which stormed the House of Commons in September 2004 to protest against the hunting ban. The Heythrop Hunt remains one of the most well supported hunts in Britain and attracted a crowd of more than 5,000 on Boxing Day last year.
