YOUR article in the journal dated June 19 (Vandalism of the war memorial).
As an ex-member of the armed forces I was shocked and disgusted that some morons could do such a thing as to desecrate a war memorial. The more I read this the more I could feel the tears in my eyes and the anger that was within me. It was only on Thursday, June 12, I stood at the memorial with my partner to pay tribute to her uncle who was killed in action at the age of eighteen. I have been living in Evesham since 1971 when I was demobbed and since then I have never missed a Remembrance parade. I have sat at the memorial and reflected on those wars and what these boys had gone through to give us freedom. These vandals must be brought to book and punished for desecrating the memory of our heroes.
John White, Evesham.
