12:12pm Thursday 3rd July 2008
I am writing to express concern about the Mayor's welcoming Lidl to the site in Port Street.

Put out clear message
12:12pm Thursday 3rd July 2008
I wonder what the St Modwen Group and The Bird Group are thinking now?

PO’s struggle to say afloat financially
12:11pm Thursday 3rd July 2008
The closure of 2,500 sub-Post Offices is giving cause for great concern. Having owned and run one for 6 years, I fully appreciate the angst it generates having closure hanging over one - mine was in the early 1980s! However, if you owned a large business and it was losing £4 million every single week, you would have to do something very quickly to stop the financial haemorrhaging.

Thanks for your custom
12:10pm Thursday 3rd July 2008
TO all my customers. I would like to thank you all for your loyal and continued support over the last 13 very happy years at Sunrise Cards' I have decided to hang up my keys and retire from retail to follow new pursuits.

...and thanks for your help!
12:10pm Thursday 3rd July 2008
EVESHAM Arts Association would like to express its thanks to Lillie and Richard Taylor of Evesham Book Centre for their support over the years.

Eyebrows should rise
12:09pm Thursday 3rd July 2008
Whilst we are all busy opposing the proposed eco-town in Middle Quinton it appears our council has just agreed plans to build 2,300 homes in Evesham apparently without many eyebrows being raised.

ASHTON staged a junior six-a-side cricket tournament for Under-14 teams involving Broadway, Malvern and Overbury.

Thank you for all your support
12:29pm Thursday 26th June 2008
MAY I thank my loyal customers, family and friends for their very generous support in sponsorship for the Race for Life, this year helping me to raise over £700. To take part is very emotional and this year was no exception. To see so many ladies walking and running, is quite a sight! With the uncertainty of the Post Office, at the present time, I would also like to thank my customers for their loyalty over the years and I hope to be serving them for many years to come. As the old saying goes - use us or lose us!

‘Morons’ must be caught...

YOUR article in the journal dated June 19 (Vandalism of the war memorial).

Doing the maths
12:29pm Thursday 26th June 2008
A Mathematical look at the Long Marston "ECO-town" proposal Q1. If a town has 6,000 houses and 3,000 jobs, how many households will require to find work elsewhere? A1. 3,000 Q2. If 50% of all of the households have dual incomes, how many people will be travelling from the town to work? A2. 1,500 + 4,500 = 6,000 Q3. If 90% of those people travel to, through or towards Stratford, how many additional north-bound journeys are likely to be made? A3. 5,400 Q4. Where are they going to work and how are they going to get there? A4. The developers think they'll either work in Stratford because "lots of firms want to move there!" or the West Midlands. They'll get there using existing roads, the new Western by-pass and the new rail/tram/guided bus route up the Greenway with a park and ride and bus link to the station.

Anyone out there listening?
12:28pm Thursday 26th June 2008
Housing Minister Caroline Flint MP is at pains to reassure Middle England that the Government will listen to our views regarding its eco-town charade.

Is the eco-town a Vale opportunity?
11:45am Thursday 19th June 2008
Could the new homes in Wychavon present an opportunity to the Vale? Could we be the first to build sustainable Eco-suburbs?

Run-off from eco-site
11:43am Thursday 19th June 2008
The arguments about the proposed Eco-town at Long Marston have mainly centred on traffic problems and pressure on services, but little has yet been said about the additional flood risk.

Housing dismay...
11:43am Thursday 19th June 2008
I was dismayed by your report, "Thousands of new homes could be built in the area".

Changing the Vale for bad
11:42am Thursday 19th June 2008
The government's plans to build a new town, two-thirds the size of Evesham, at Long Marston is an example of what happens when Ministers and their advisors make London-based decisions without local knowledge.

Barrier to safety
11:14am Thursday 12th June 2008
THE Highways Agency receives billions of our hard earned taxes, to spend on our roads, presumably, to make them safer to use; billions every year.
