Our February meeting was very successful despite taking place the evening before The Beast from the East arrived spectacularly the next day. Our speaker was Dr Colin Scrutton, who shared his extensive knowledge and passion for Wild Orchids in the South Midlands. Both he and his wife are wonderful photographers and their images were fascinating. We learnt much of the science of these beautiful protected flowers at the same time learning where to look for them in the lovely countryside we are fortunate to live in.

Our March meeting takes place on Wednesday 28th at 7.30 pm in the Memorial Hall. It is our Spring Show so hopefully the snow will have disappeared in sufficient time for the spring flowers to recover their natural beauty. Our judges will be Hazel Byron and Colin Hill, and we look forward to receiving as many entries as possible that the recent weather hasn't ruined. Our final class is our baking challenge, this year members are requested to make raspberry buns according to the recipe on the reverse of the show schedule. We look forward to seeing you all and extend a warm welcome to everyone for an enjoyable and entertaining evening.
