Our Annual General Meeting was held on 28 November and after reports on what had been another good year, election of the committee for the coming year took place.

Afterwards we had a talk by Gemma Warden from Age UK who told us about the information, advice and services they can offer. Efforts are being made to help veterans who did military service, including National Service, before 1950. They offer help to veterans, their families and people in later life on a range of issues such as financial, pensions, help in and around the home, as well as assistance with technology and advice on wellbeing. They have a befriending service which aims to help those who are lonely or isolated to become involved in activities taking place in the community, or to take up hobbies and interests.

We will be holding a New Year's Social on 23 January 2018 at the Town Hall at 1.30pm. This is a ticket only event. Tickets are available at the Town Hall on Monday and Thursday mornings between 10.30am. and 12 noon.

Members are reminded that annual subscription fees are due for renewal in January.

Wishing all our members a Merry Christmas and a healthy, Happy New Year.
