WE were very pleased to have such a good attendance at our meeting on May 23 and to welcome quite a number of visitors.

Everyone enjoyed the requested return visit of the Harvington Ukelele Group. It is a happy, friendly group and they entertained us with a wide selection of music, songs, humour and the odd joke. The audience was encouraged to join in, sing along and clap hands and it created a warm, happy atmosphere. They are very talented and everyone appreciated and enjoyed their performance.

In the break we enjoyed chatting to some of the members of the group, whilst enjoying tea, coffee, cakes and biscuits, followed by the raffle and various notices about forthcoming events.

For the second half the Ukelele Group played songs we remembered from our teenage years and closed with a medley of George Formby numbers. What a memorable afternoon, so thank you to them.

On Tuesday, June 27 from 12noon until 4pm at the Town Hall, we will be holding a Health and Wellbeing Day. Entry is free, with just a small charge for refreshments. There will be a variety of demonstrations, talks and stalls giving advice and information. We would like to encourage visitors to drop in and meet us, talk to us and enjoy this event.
