The speaker at our June meeting was Mark Bywater from Worcestershire Telecare. He spoke to us about the various gadgets that are available to help people to be independent and remain in their own homes for as long as possible. With the aid of various pendants, watches and other items people can call for assistance whenever they need it and the service is provided 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Anyone requiring further information can telephone 0345 130 1469.

We had a brief mention from Carolyn Pym from the Abbey Medical Practice about a new service on memory loss and she will be returning at some later date to give us more information about that service.

The previous weekend our organisation was pleased to take part in the Flower Festival at St. Peter's Church, Bengeworth. Two of our committee, Anne Turner and Jenny Jones, created a wonderful display of pink and purple flowers that exuded a beautiful perfume and which received many compliments from visitors. Other members of the committee also enjoyed meeting some of the visitors and telling them about what we do. Two ladies had travelled from Birmingham especially to visit the festival. They used to live in Evesham and attend St. Peter's church.

At our next meeting on Tuesday July 24 we have a social afternoon with entertainment by an Elvis impersonator. This is a ticketed event and tickets are now available at the Town Hall on Mondays and Thursdays between 10.30 a.m. and 12 noon.
