THANKS to all members and friends who helped before, during and after our recent Regatta. It was very successful both as a rowing event and financially for the Club as a whole. Early indications are that we could be looking at a profit of nearly £15,000 which as always helps to keep our subscriptions at a reasonable level. It was another year where so many of you turned up to help and it was much appreciated. I couldn’t begin to name you all but there were a few who deserve special mention. The Rowing Captain, Simon Edwards, and Regatta Secretary, Martyn Sutton, bore the brunt of the organisation ably assisted by Pauline Pollard who looked after the Rota, Richard Gosling and Carole Lovelock who did all the entries and results, Nicki Pettitt who fed and watered us, Liz Stranks who ran the Hospitality, Tony Rowland, Arthur Angus and Dawn Nutton for an amazing amount of sponsorship, Tony Rowland in charge of the umpires, Tim Messent and his team of commentators and Debbie Edwards who ran Registration. My special Thanks to them, the umpires and our sponsors but also to everyone else who worked so hard.

The Asparagus Supper and third ‘150 Club’ draw, takes place on Friday, June 1. A master list will be kept by Martin Frangleton and you must book your place with him either by e-mailing eveshamboathouse@outlook.com, telephoning 01386 44 6131 or in person over the bar by Sunday, May 27.

The Folk Festival weekend will be on Friday 22, Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 June. Sally Vale-Fisher requires helpers to serve food on the Friday evening and breakfasts on the Saturday and Sunday mornings. Please contact her if you can give 3 or so hours to help as again this is an event which raises a lot of money for the Club but needs a lot of helpers. We normally serve in the region of 350 breakfasts both upstairs and in a marquee in the car park.
