EVESHAM Gardening Club members enjoyed an enlightening talk by Brian Skeys on the Gardens of the Summer Palace of the King of Belgium. Most are aware of the chocolates, lace and beautiful towns Belgium has to offer but the gardens were a surprise to members. The photos shown were of beautiful flower beds and flora displays which were very original. Mr Skeys gave a new aspect to a visit in a well-known European country. Thanks were given to Mr Skeys and his wife for photos shown of their lovely garden which they open for the National Garden Scheme.

On October 5 by way of a change, the club had an outside visit to Old Court Nurseries, Colwall to view the colourful Picton Garden with its Michaelmas daisies and diverse shrubs in autumn colour. A place well worth a visit by keen gardeners especially on its Open days to show its National Collection of Michaelmas daisies. It was a very enjoyable visit and the weather was kind to us.

The next meeting of the club is on October 24 at 7.30pm at Wallace House, Oat Street, Evesham when the speaker will be Martin Brookes informing members of the important work that Vale Wildlife Hospital does for nature and the rehabilitation of animals. Please come and join us.
