TWO of our newer members recently provided yet more evidence of the inherent talents, highly developed skills and diversity of backgrounds that exists within the Probus Club of Evesham.

Alan Smith, accompanied by his wife Christine, spoke on 20 July about their narrow boat experiences. They call their boat ‘Tickety Boo’ and with Christine operating their PowerPoint presentation, Alan took us on a fascinating journey along the River Avon and the Stratford and Droitwich Canals. He described the history of canals and the work done to restore and maintain the network.

Then on 27 July, Christian Lang walked us along his amazing life path. He spoke about his background, schooling, family and work, illuminated with photos and video clips.

Despite being retired like the rest of us, he clearly has found plenty to keep himself fully occupied. His interests include maintaining and restoring two classic Rover cars, classical piano, collecting and repairing old fountain pens and genealogy. He has researched his family history extensively and can trace his roots back for many generations.

We meet every Thursday at 10am at the Evesham Rowing Club's boathouse. Information about us is on our website: www.eveshamprobus.co.uk.
