MEMBERS enjoyed a very interesting talk on wine this month. To begin, our speaker for the evening Jane Doley gave everyone paper plates with various samples of food, and a list of the four wines we were going to try. Intrigued by this we then learnt that as well as tasting the wines we were going to match each wine with the appropriate food. This proved to be very informative as well as enjoyable. On behalf of us all Beth thanked Jane. After the talk we had a wine and cheese supper, with cakes as well!
At our business meeting Gill Granger, President, announced that we had won the shield for the Worcestershire Federation skittles competition. This was presented to Pam Rayner who organised the skittles last year. We have a visit to the Royal Mint and a WWI Musical Evening in September to complete our Heritage Year celebrations.
The winners of this month's competition “South Africa” were first Janet Cullis, second Janet Arnold and third Pamela Murray.
We are always pleased to welcome new members, so please come along to Wulstan Hall, Priest Lane, 7 for 7.30pm on the second Thursday in the month.
