A FAMILY run Worcestershire firm which has celebrated 145 years in Worcester, has won a coveted award at the Footware Industry Awards.

The Worcester News reported last week that Robin Elt Shoes had been shortlisted for five awards. Jenny Elt attended the black tie event Birmingham's National Conference Centre on Sunday, and was presented the Men’s Independent Footwear Retailer of the Year award from David Lockyer of charity, Footwear Friends.

Director Robin Elt said: “The Footwear Industry awards are the pinnacle of achievement judged by industry pundits.

"To have received an accolade for three years running is most rewarding.

"We could not have achieved this without the dedicated, hardworking team that are our staff."

Organised by Datateam Business Media, the awards are designed to recognise the top footwear brands, retailers and individuals of the past 12 months. The British Footwear Association (BFA), Footwear Friends, Society of Shoe Fitters (SSF) and Footwear Today all support the awards, with winners selected by a judging panel.

Previously the firm has won outdoor retailer of the year and best ladies independent retailer of the year 2017.
