AND THEY’RE OFF: Dozens of cyclists taking part in the Shipston Cycle Challenge AND THEY’RE OFF: Dozens of cyclists taking part in the Shipston Cycle Challenge

THE sun shone for cyclists in Shipston when they got in the saddle for a charity bike ride.

About 140 cyclists took part in the Shipston Cycle Challenge to raise funds for Shipston Home Nursing at the end of last month. More than £2,000 was raised on the day while local supermarkets supported the event by providing water, bananas and energy bars to refuel tired cyclists on their return.

Debbie Foster, assistant fund-raising co-ordinator, said: “We would like to thank Rob Gullen for sharing with us his wealth of expertise and knowledge, also to all the helpers on the day.”

Next year’s event will be held on September 29. For more information about the charity, visit shipstonhomenursing.co.uk.
