People get help to capture treasured memories

A BROADWAY care home is taking part in Memory Share Week next month.
Brompton House will host a number of special events for its residents from November 12 to November 18 focusing on the importance of sharing and capturing memories.
The week has been organised nationally by Bupa Care Homes after a national survey revealed most people don’t know enough about the important events in their parents’ early lives and what mattered most to them.
To help families capture important memories, Bupa has created a Map of Life tool available at bupa.co.uk/ mapoflife.
The web page can be used to record significant life experiences, such as interests and friends while also providing lots of ideas and advice for families on how to unlock memories.
Siobhan Drane, Bupa Care Homes’ community and partnerships manager, said: “The Map of Life is something we have introduced into all our homes. We think it is really important to find out as much as possible about our residents using our Map of Life so that we can provide really personalised care.”
