Historian memorial unveiled

AN Evesham historian was honoured at a ceremony in the town last weekend with the unveiling of a new memorial.
The memorial for George May, who was the author of the a history of Evesham published in 1834, stands in the gardens of Oat Street Unitarian Chapel.
Mayor of Evesham Robert Raphael conducted the ceremony on Saturday afternoon.
In his speech, the Mayor paid tribute to the work of the historical society together with the support given by the Unitarians in making sure the rich heritage of Evesham was remembered and there to be recalled by everyone
