A FAMOUS blue tank engine will be puffing its way along the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway this weekend.

Thomas and Friends are returning to the GWR on Saturday and Sunday for another joyous riot on the rails with the cheeky blue star of the show, Thomas.

Andy Smith, organiser of ‘Day out with Thomas’, said Thomas fans could see many of the stories being acted out for real between Winchcombe and Cheltenham Racecourse.

He said: “The Fat Controller will be keeping a close eye on Thomas and his friends during the weekend to make sure they don’t get into any mischief. And when one of Thomas’s friends runs short of water, you can even help fill his tender for him.

“It doesn’t matter whether you’re six or 60, you’ll recognise all of the characters and memories of the books will come flooding back when you visit the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway.”

Along with Thomas, a London Routemaster Bus will be giving rides and Diesel, one of the railway’s other steam engines, will be hauling the mainline trains along with Thomas. Tickets cost £17 for adults and £10 for children and can be bought on the day.
