Rave in nature reserve
2:10pm Thursday 20th September 2012 in News
A DOG walker has described the “intimidating scene of carnage” she encountered on an early morning walk in Pershore after she discovered the aftermath of an all-night rave.
The woman along with two friends were taking their daily walk through the town’s Tiddesley Wood at about 7.30am on Sunday when they came to a clearing to discover people strewn across the ground littered with empty beer bottles and drugs paraphernalia.
More than 100 people met up at the beauty spot for an illicit allnight rave, beginning on Saturday evening.
Revellers were seen chasing livestock, there was a generator and DJ on site, bench posts and a wooden walkway had been ripped and used as firewood for a bonfire and information boards were damaged.
The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, said: “There were people rolling around in the car park and there was a big fire. They had set fire to the benches and other bits of wood. There was litter everywhere, broken bottles, beer cans and lots of other rubbish.
It was an extremely intimidating thing to come across when you are just taking a quiet early morning walk. There was lots of music from cars and the party was still going on when I got there.”
Worcestershire Wildlife Trust has been left with a £300 repair bill to clear up the mess.
