Warwick Castle bird of prey

A BIRD of prey which has been missing from its home at Warwick Castle for over a week, is proving difficult to track down.
Ten-year-old Stan, a White Tailed Sea Eagle, is believed to have taken flight during a show last Thursday.
Handlers have been searching for him since and tracked him down to a field near Leamington Rugby Club on Monday. However he gave them the slip and Warwick Castle is once again appealing for people to get in touch if they see the bird.
The eagle has a wingspan of more than 6ft and his keepers said he is fairly timid. He is named after Kazakhstan, where he is originally from, and has been flying at the castle for more than eight years.
“We’re desperate to get Stan back as he’s never been away for this long before,” said Tim Harrison-Jones, General Manager at Warwick Castle. “He is an integral part of our daily birds of prey shows and we all miss him. He has a six and a half feet wingspan so looks pretty impressive in the sky but he’s actually quite timid so is most likely to be found perched in a tree or on a post.”
