THOUSANDS of people turned out in Saturday’s glorious sunshine to enjoy this year’s Peopleton Show.

The event was opened by former Olympian Andrew Train and attracted about 150 classic cars from a mint green Ford Thunderbird to a vintage Lotus.

Steve Dexter, one of the organisers, said they were very pleased with how the day went and hoped it had raised more than £6,000 for the Peopleton Parochial Church Council “We had about 2,500 people on the day,” said Mr Dexter.

“The number of classic cars we had was the best ever.

The weather helped. It was a really fantastic day. The air show was really good by the Defford Airfield Flyers. They did a flypast and performed some stunts.”

There was plenty of entertainment for everyone at the show with children’s games, a horticultural and craft show, tombola, a demonstration by the Worcester Gun Dog Club and fiercely contested tug of war competition.

Music was also played throughout the day, including a performance by the village’s rising star Charlii Harrington, who sang songs from West End shows.
