Praised heaped on waste company

PRAISE has been heaped on Cotswold District Council’s new waste company, which took over a month ago.

Councillor David Fowles, cabinet member for the environment, is pleased with the progress of Ubico Ltd which took over the provision of waste and environmental services from SITA UK on August 6.

Ubico Ltd is a joint company which was set up in April by Cotswold District Council and Cheltenham Borough Council.

Coun Fowles said: “I’m very pleased with progress so far. The staff, most of whom transferred across from SITA UK, already know the district inside out but they have had to get to grips with a new fleet of vehicles and a new depot.

“In the circumstances, things have gone extremely well.”
