New steps to boost tourism

A footpath that links the Cotswolds with the Vale has been launched after an overhaul.
The improved Wychavon Way starts in Droitwich and wends its way through Pershore to Broadway.
After years of work and a £25,000 investment, it is hoped the 40-mile trail will draw more tourists to the area.
The route’s new path through Pershore is one of the main changes, alongside its new end point in Broadway.
The walk was originally devised by John Wrenn to mark the Queen’s Silver Jubilee in 1977.
Now in the year of her Diamond Jubilee, both Worcestershire County Council and Wychavon District Council hope the improved new route will draw in more walkers.
Coun Richard Morris, chairman of Wychavon, said: “While the new walk has introduced some changes to the route as originally devised by Mr Wrenn, it will continue to showcase the very best of the area with its diverse landscape, towns and villages and will certainly help to support the local tourism industry in these challenging times.”
