OVER the past weeks people in one corner of the Cotswolds may have been forgiven for thinking they were seeing things as a giant pink stiletto travelled through the region.

The 12ft by 10ft fuchsia shoe was making its way across Gloucestershire on a 10-week tour from Painswick to Cheltenham Fashion Week, stopping on the way at spots including Winchcombe.

The arrival of the shoe marks the first-ever fashion week, running from September 17-21.

Founded by Sam Bawden, the planning for the event at Cowley Manor, which will support children’s charity Hop, Skip and Jump, has been in the pipeline for more than two years.

The creative director of the event, said: “The shoe is phenomenal. It is a real eye-catcher.” For more information, visit cheltenham fashionweek.co.uk
