POLICE investigating an assault on a driver on the A429 at Moreton are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

At about 4pm yesterday the driver, a 46-year-old man from Warwickshire, was approaching a roundabout in a silver BMW when he had a disagreement with a cyclist.

Following the disagreement the cyclist assaulted the driver through an open window on the car before cycling away.

The cyclist was described as a white man, in his early 50s and between 5ft 8” and 6ft tall. He was wearing a grey t-shirt with a logo on the chest and shorts.

The driver suffered minor injuries to his face in the incident.

Investigating officers are eager to hear from anyone that witnessed the assault and ask that information be given to Gloucestershire Police on 101, quoting incident number 338 of July 23.
