TRAINS were delayed for up to an hour this morning after an animal was struck on the line between Evesham and Moreton-in-Marsh.
The service from Worcester to Oxford carrying commuters at 6.53am was halted after it hit a mystery animal.
The impact was so severe it damaged part of the train, and stopped at Moreton-in-Marsh to allow passengers off.
It has meant delays of up to an hour.
A spokeman for First Great Western said: “The animal was so badly damaged we’ve not been able to identify what it is.
“It hit part of the train which links to the engine so we had to end the service at Moreton.”
Bigger trains are running on the line from this week for the first time since 2009 in a bid to help ease overcrowding.
