A team of young disabled Cotswold riders have won the first place rosette for a musical drill ride event.
A TEAM of young disabled Cotswold riders have won the first place rosette for a musical drill ride event beating teams from around the country.
The Cotswold Riding for Disabled team, who are all aged 10 and 11, taped their musical ride entry and after just one year of riding together, the team was pleased to win first place.
But the good news hasn’t ended there as an older rider from team Cotswold, 14-year-old Aidan O’Donnell, is preparing to take part in the national Countryside Challenge after winning his regional group.
Mo Begg, centre manager, said: “It is a fantastic achievement for our riders, ponies and volunteers.
I am so proud of them all.
We had great fun practising to the music and the children even practised at their school on foot.
“Aidan has blossomed at Cotswold and has already achieved great things.
“We are really hopeful he will be placed at the nationals. Who knows, maybe we will see him in the Paralympics one day.”
