A CHIPPING Norton man scooped top prize in a photography competition that will see his winning print feature in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds Visitor Guide.

Kevin Goodey, won first place in West Oxfordshire District Council’s contest with his picture of a footpath between Chipping Norton and Charlbury.

People were challenged to take a snapshot of life in the district with themes including wildlife, market towns, panoramic views and thriving town centres.

The 60-year-old accountant, who took up photography five years ago, was overwhelmed by winning the competition, which received 170 entries.

He said: “I couldn’t believe it when I was told I had won and even asked if I was the only entrant.”

As well as his photo being used in the council’s tourism publications, Mr Goodey also received a canvas print of his image courtesy of Blueprint Imaging Ltd.
