Go up, up and away at hot-air balloon festival
WHETHER you want to take off this summer or keep your feet firmly on the ground, the Evesham Balloon Festival has something to offer everyone.
Visitors to the weekend event will witness the incredible site of more than 20 hot air balloons ascend into the skies from Crown Meadow in the town centre along the riverside.
Balloons in a rainbow of colours will light up the town’s skyline with dawn and dusk launches whilst on the ground there will be activities for land lovers.
On Saturday, June 9, classic cars, hovercraft displays and a fun fair will be open on Crown Meadow. Live music will play throughout the day and spectators can enjoy a wide range of food and drink available at stalls on the meadow.
The evening will end with an impressive Balloon Night Glow and Firework extravaganza as the balloons glow in the night sky and move with the music.
The second dawn launch is on Sunday, June 10, alongside the previous day’s displays.
At midday runners will descend for a 5km sponsored run raising money for the County Air Ambulance.
