A VALE funnyman will be shaking up the comedy scene when his new show hits the airwaves this month.
Richard Bond, aged 27, of Church Lench, has written and performed a comedy sketch show called Strap In: It’s Clever Peter with friends Edward Eales-White, William Hartley and Dominic Stone.
He couldn’t believe his luck when the show was commissioned by BBC bosses. It is due to be aired on Radio 4 at 11.15pm every Wednesday for four weeks from May 16.
The former Prince Henry’s pupil started writing and performing material when he was at Winchester University and has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival three times.
Their performances have won critical acclaim, including awards for best newcomer and best new writing.
Richard, who recently moved back to the house he grew up in with his fiancée Catriona, said he hoped the radio show would be the start of something big. He said: “It’s going to be a big year.
We are really happy we’ve got this opportunity. We’ve worked really hard to get here and have been working with some of the best people.”
