These eight forth-year girls of Broadway County Primary School will leave the school with a lasting memento of their days there with a new school flag, 51 years ago.
They made it by hand, with embroidery and appliqué work representing in proper colours the national emblems of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales, surrounding Broadway Tower on a summers day and the name of school in plain capital letters. The flag flew for the first time over the school on its sports day.(1960 files). Page6_019
