A SERIES of fossil and dinosaur roadshows around villages and schools run by Oxfordshire Geology Trust has been voted a huge success.
Visitors were able to see a variety of exhibits including an allosaurus skull and the cast of its very small brain, dinosaur poo, a plesiosaur vertebrae and large ammonites, as well as learning about the geology of the area.
The village hall roadshows in the evening attracted more than 150 people, including 60 visitors to the Churchill show, which is something of a hotspot for geology as the birthplace of William "Strata" Smith, the father of modern geology.
The trust's field trips at various sites in the region unearthed a new collection of gastropods, ammonites, pectens and rhynchonellids for the next series of dinosaur and fossil roadshows.
