A CIVIL War feast is being held at St Edward’s Hall in Stow next month.
The banquet will be served on wooden platters, with diners having to eat their meal with only a knife in the customary 17th Century style.
The menu will feature a wide range of traditional dishes, including roast pork, chicken and venison.
Organising committee member Brain Honess said that during the feast, diners will have the historical backgound to the dishes explained to them.
“It is hoped that all those who attend will make an effort to "dress-up" for the occassion - nothing too elaborate, but it will help give "atmosphere" to the event,” he said.
Tickets for the evening on Saturday, September 25 at 6.30pm for 7pm, cost £30 and are available from "Go-Stow" in Stow on 01451 870 150.
The event is being run by the Cotswold Festival, which ran a successful two-day event in the town last year.
Cotswold Festival organising committee chairman Jean Oxley said: “Next year is going to be a bigger event on one day with a larger Sealed Knot involvement and mini-muster.”
