A 46-YEAR-OLD Chipping Norton man was sentenced to 15 months' imprisonment after admitting possessing class A drugs with intent to supply.
Police officers stopped and searched him as part of Operation Jupe, a crackdown on the supply of drugs in the town.
They found him to be in possession of more than 40 wraps of crack cocaine and heroine.
At Oxford Crown Court, he admitted possessing class A drugs with intent to supply.
Detective Sergeant Craig Kirby said: “This result shows that we are committed to tackling drugs in our rural communities.
“I would like to thank the people living in Chipping Norton that came forward and gave us the information to support this operation.
“This sentence sends out a clear message that drugs and the supplying of drugs will not be tolerated and those caught can expect a custodial sentence.”
