HUNDREDS of people attended the Cotswold Festival in Stow, which included a re-enactment of the bloodiest episode in the town’s history.
Colonel Pickering’s Regiment of the Sealed Knot re-enacted the Battle of Stow, which was fought in 1646 when it proved to be the last battle of England’s first Civil War.
A farmer’s market, horticultural show, juggler, antique shop trail, dancing and a visit by celebrity antiques expert Henry Sandon were among numerous other attractions at the two-day festival in the town.
The festival was first held two years ago to celebrate the 900th anniversary of Stow receiving its Market Charter.
It was so successful that the organisers decided to hold it again.
