Shopkeeper’s optimism about future

CHIPPING Campden is showing signs of recovering from the credit crunch, says a town shopkeeper.

James Keitley, who runs Campden Shoe Company in High Street and is Chipping Campden Chamber of Trade chairman, says business has been improving in the town for the past few months and new businesses were being attracted to the town.

He said: “Nine months ago it was poor here. Now, we are getting a lot of foreign visitors coming in from Europe who are obviously seeing us as a cheaper place to visit because of the Euro situation.

“We’re also getting a lot of British people who are staying at home and seeing the Cotswolds as a destination.”
