A CHILDREN’S day nursery at Upper Tysoe, near Shipston, has created 20 jobs by expanding for the second time since opening four and a half years ago.
Winchcombe Farm Day Nursery, in Shennington Road, offered 24 child care places when opening in January 2005.
Due to demand, owner Steve Taylor expanded it in January 2006 to accommodate 36 children and has now had to expand it again to increase capacity to 52 places.
Warwickshire County Council part-funded this latest extension because it created much-needed child-care facilities.
Winchcombe Farm, which caters for children aged between six weeks and five years, was the first Warwickshire childcare facility to offer parents ‘cyber nursery'.
This enables parents to watch their children in the nursery on a secure website, thanks to closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras that film the youngsters, who have the use of an organic vegetable patch, four outdoor play areas and a Forest School where they learn about the environment.
The nursery, co-managed by Catherine Foxall and Rachel Giorgio, is split into three sections - the hatchery for babies aged up to two, the duckling’s room for toddlers and the preschool room for children aged three-five.
Mr Taylor said: “There is a great demand for high-quality private child care in locations such as Tysoe.”
