MAY Bank Holiday weekend was a busy time at Wychwood Golf Club with matches away to Brailes and at home to Magnolia Park in the Hillman Trophy.

The visiting squad lost 3.5-2.5 with Mike Taylor and Steve Pratley successful with John Hurren and Andy Miller halving their game.

Wychwood recorded a great win against the 2007 finalists in the Hillman Trophy - a success that was secured thanks to wins from Jimmy Kearns, Phil Smith and Terry Johnson with halves from Paul O'Hare and Ian Jarvis securing a 4-3 triumph.

Eddie Grimes, meanwhile, won the National Pro-Am qualifier and will play in a regional final at Frilford with club professional Adam Souter.

Club results - Monthly Medal (Division One): 1 Derek Lafford 80-10-70; 2 Eddie Grimes 87-14-73; 3 John Lougher 85-12-73. Division Two: Alan Dore 88-18-70; 2 Tom Cullen 97-24-73; 3 Andrew Buckland nett 73.
