PLANS have been announced for a 60 bed care home to be built in Moreton.

Mercian Group are proposing a 1.4 acre care home site on vacant land next to the new Aldi store, just off Fosse Way, next to the North Cotswold Community Hospital and Four Shires Medical Centre.

The application will be revealed at a public drop-in session at Redesdale Hall in Moreton High Street on Monday June 11.

The development is set over two floors, with facilities that include 100 percent en-suite provision, a café, dining room, salon, cinema and lounges.

The site is directly accessible from Fosse Way and includes 18 car parking spaces.

The home would be managed by family-run care provider the Taylor and Taylor Group.

Taylor and Taylor Group’s services include intermediate care for those leaving hospital, dementia care; 24-hour nursing care and palliative end of life care.

The drop-in event will give people the opportunity to find out more about the proposals, meet the development team and provide feedback as part of the planning application process.

Chris Towers, Mercian Group managing director, said: “We’re bringing forward high-quality, sensitively designed proposals for a much needed care home provision. This will be aimed at Moreton residents, offering the very best in care right on their doorstep and close to family members.

“We value residents’ feedback and look forward to welcoming members of the public to our drop-in event to hear their views.”
