A 5-YEAR-OLD who suffers from a metabolic condition which forces him to be tube fed is raising money to give sick children Easter eggs.

Oscar Hughes, 5, of Droitwich has already raised more than £250 in five days for children at Worcestershire Royal Hospital and Birmingham Children's Hospital.

Oscar had the idea when he saw Christmas presents being brought to sick children whilst in hospital.

His mother, Rebecca Hughes, said: "We are really proud of him.

"He got the idea when he saw Christmas presents being brought to sick children when he was in at Christmas.

"He has to go to hospital whenever he gets something small even a cold, because his sugar level drops so quickly."

Oscar's medical condition means that he often loses consciousness due to sudden sugar level drops.

Eggs can be dropped off at Salto Gymnastics Club at Witton Middle School or Peacocks in Saint Andrews Square Shopping Centre.
