THE Shipston Proms ended its two week festival of music with a grand finale in Shipston Square.

On a glorious evening one of the biggest crowds for the event heard the Fame Contest winners Molly Hurwood, Greg Brice, and On Crash Sunday warm up the crowd.

Too Fat To Kidnap followed after, getting the audience dancing at the front to their selection of rock covers.

Jüpitronz played a set of original songs with style aided by dramatic lighting.

European Blues Guitarist of 2016 Laurence Jones was delighted to be asked to headline the event in front of a home crowd as he grew up in Shipston and still lives there, but seldom gets to play locally these days.

Now a 4 piece band with the recent addition of keyboard player Bennett Holland, they adapted their set specially for the evening and after a range of their own songs moved into some well known favourites.

Some of the popular songs they included were Lynyrd Skynyrd's 'Sweet Home Alabama', Stevie Wonder's 'Superstition', and The Rolling Stones 'Miss You'.
