A GREAT British Bake Off judge is coming to the Cotswolds to hold a special book signing at a local food emporium.

Prue Leith, who will join Paul Hollywood, Sandi Toskvig and Noel Fielding on the hit TV show when it returns to screens later this year, will be at Fillet & Bone, in Chipping Campden High Street, on Saturday, May 13 signing copies of her new book, The Prodigal Daughter.

She agreed to do the book signing after shopping at Fillet & Bone, which opened in March in the centuries-old L Smith Family Butcher’s shop.

Managing director Chris Gates is delighted to have secured the big-name guest.

“We’re absolutely thrilled Prue is going to be with us,” he said. “She’s been revolutionising Britain’s eating habits since the 60s and she shares our passion for locally-sourced, responsibly-farmed, sustainable, seasonal food and drink.

“She’s one of our all-time food heroes, and we can’t wait to welcome her to the shop.”

Mrs Leith, who lives in Oxfordshire, is involved with several charities and chaired the Children’s Food Trust, lobbying for nutritious school meals.

She will be signing copies of The Prodigal Daughter and other books between noon and 1pm and says she is looking forward to the visit.

“I’m full of admiration for Fillet & Bone," she said. "It’s a great little shop, and I’m delighted to do a book signing for them.

“Good food, good wine and a good read are my idea of heaven.”

No tickets are required and all profits from the sale of books on the day will go to Cotswolds charities.
