A WORKSHOP gave first time gardeners the chance to prepare for the Moreton Show.
This year's Moreton Show is aiming to encourage inexperienced growers, particularly children to come along.
An Easter Monday workshop at the Fosseway Garden Centre in Moreton, demonstrated that even gardening novices can grow and prepare fruits, vegetables and flowers.
Gill Godwin, chief children’s steward, said: ‘It was fantastic to see so many people wanting to know more about taking part in our show.
"The children were all so creative and I think they had a lot of fun learning something new."
Local vegetable growing expert, Chris Small led the way with advice on entering the produce section whilst members of Moreton in Marsh Flower Club had handy hints on flower arranging and children were taught how to make a mini garden and how to grow potatoes.
Moreton Show takes place on Saturday, September 2.
