A PUBLIC exhibition will be held to explain plans to redevelop land as extra care apartments.
In 2016, plans to redevelop land just north of the Tesco store at Fosse Way in Stow were rejected by Cotswold District Council, with problems regarding some parts of the plan.
The plans include 44 assisted living apartments, car parking and landscape and an exhibition has now been organised as an attempt to address problems outlined by the council.
The proposals were submitted by McCarthy and Stone as an attempt to help local people towards the end of their lives.
Darren Humphreys, regional managing director at McCarthy and Stone said: “The principle of developing Extra Care accommodation on the site was established by Cotswold District Council in 2014.”
“Our public exhibition, which is being held before we submit a detailed planning application, will provide the local community with further information regarding our assisted living apartments, along with additional detail regarding our proposed design, which has been carefully considered to respect the traditional architectural character of Stow.”
The exhibition takes place on Friday March 3, between 3pm and 7pm at St Edward's Hall in The Square in Stow.
Assisted Living accommodation enables older homeowners to live independent lives in their own home with care and support available on-site 24 hours a day.
