A retailer has closed its business in the Broadway.

This week, Occasions card and gift shop, which opened when the shopping centre was launched, has closed its doors.

Ian Ward, general manager of The Broadway Bradford said: “We can confirm that Occasions at The Broadway has closed.

"We are in talks with a number of retailers at present to let the small number of vacant units currently in the shopping centre."

It is the latest in a number of stores which have closed in the new shopping centre.

Most recently, Celeb, an independent boutique closed in mid-December, just 12 weeks after it opened.

Prior to this, Accent, an independent clothing retailer closed in October, Jeff Bains Shoes closed in July and Spud U Like closed in June.

However, new businesses are due to open including Papadoms Indian restaurant which will be opening in Charles Street in March or April, and a new six-screen cinema complex is due to open in December 2017 with burger restaurant Gourmet Burger Kitchen taking one of the four restaurant sites within the new cinema development.
