BOTTLED water has been delivered to areas around Guiseley, Rawdon and Yeadon after five separate mains bursts cut supplies off to100s of homes this morning.

A spokesman for Yorkshire Water said engineers were out trying to fix the bursts that had all happened 'randomly'.

The company supplied 800 eight-litre packs this morning to Plain Tree's Reservoir which ran out quickly and sent for a further 1,200 packs."

"We are working hard to fix the problems which have all occurred at random and with no apparent pattern. There have been problems where they have tried to reconnect the flow only for another burst to appear. We don't want people to be without water, especially during the holiday season, and are doing our best to get the supplies back to normal," the spokesman said.

The first burst was reported at 7am.

Engineers are currently investigating what caused the bursts to occur.
