A MORETON-IN-MARSH man who assaulted a woman and then resisted arrest by police has been sent to prison.
Robert Allen, 40, of Primrose Court, Moreton-in-Marsh admitted assaulting Alissa Ballinger on October 22 and resisting PC Williams when he came to arrest him for the offence.
When Cheltenham magistrates heard that it was a sustained assault with a number of witnesses and that Allen had a criminal record they jailed him for 16 weeks.
He was also placed under a restraining order for three years.
