A NEW charity for musicians whose lives have been directly affected by cancer will hold its first concert this weekend.
The charity - named Sono Vivo, meaning 'I am alive and well' - was founded by pianist Richard Meyrick and cellist Alisa Liubarskaya, and allows musicians to hold fundraising concerts free of charge.
On Saturday, Sono Vivo will hold its first concert at St James' Church in Chipping Campden, hosted by the Chipping Campden Music Festival.
And thanks to the support of patrons Sir Harvey and Lady Allison McGrath, who are covering all overheads, the entire box office proceeds from the concert will go to the Royal Marsden cancer charity.
The recital begins at 7.30pm and includes a sonatas by Roslavets, Franck and Rachmaninov.
