THE Worcester News Jobs and Careers Fair, held in association with Aldi, will take place in the Guildhall, Worcester, on Thursday, September 22.

Following on from the success of the last fair in March, this established event, now in its 14th year, continues to give local jobseekers the chance to gather information on a variety of local employment opportunities and training and educational courses.

The fair will welcome 30 exhibitors who will be on hand to offer information and advice, and up to 1,000 people are expected to attend on the day.

Event sponsor Aldi is recruiting once again following the hugely-successful opening of its second store in Worcester on Tybridge Street in July It is now looking for staff for a third store on Bath Road, which is due to open before the end of the year.

Aldi currently has around 40 vacancies available, including assistant store manager, deputy store manager, store assistant, stock assistant and store apprentice roles. Full training will be provided and Aldi is looking for successful candidates to start immediately.

Aldi is also recruiting store apprentices, who will be trained in all aspects of retail management during their three-year course, which features a mixture of in-store and theory work. The scheme offers store assistant training in year one and store management training in years two and three.

It provides a range of career opportunities for local people including care, domestic and catering roles where they can make a real difference to residents’ lives.

There will be a wide range of local companies exhibiting at the fair from sectors including finance, IT, public sector, health and social care, admin, and sales.

Representatives will be on hand to talk about various career opportunities including vacancies, training courses, further education and apprenticeships.
