A DAREDEVIL gran celebrated her 70th birthday year in style with a daring wing-walk to raise money for charity.

Lyn Jameson, the postmaster of Tibberton Post Office, had previously completed a series of fundraisers, including coffee mornings, and asking for donations instead of presents for her birthday in April.

The culmination of the fundraising activities was Mrs Jameson's toughest challenge which took place on Wednesday, August 31 - a wing-walk at Staverton Airport.

The original wing-walk was originally scheduled to take place a few days before in Leicestershire, but due to poor weather this had to be cancelled, so Mrs Jameson rearranged it a few days later to be held at the Gloucestershire airfield.

Cheered on by husband, Guy, and other family and friends on arrival at the airfield the adventurer climbed onto the wing and was strapped to the plane.

After taking off, the plane performed a series of aerial manoeuvres and fly pasts before landing to the loud cheers from the crowd that gathered to support her.

Mrs Jameson's fundraising efforts managed to raise more than £5,000 for St Richard's Hospice, following generous donation from shops and businesses in Worcester, Droitwich and Evesham.
