A MAN has been remanded in custody to await sentence next month after he admitted three shop burglaries in Bourton on the Water.

Craig Russell, aged 45, of Oakley rd,, Cirencester, admitted raiding the Cor Blimey fish and chip shop on July 12 and again on 27th July, stealing £500 on the first occasion and some change on the second.

He also admitted burglary of Shalom the Rainbow coffee shop in Moore road on July, 27.

Steve Young, defending, asked for an adjournment so that a pre sentence report can be prepared on Russell - and also for other charges being brought against him to be put before the court.

Judge Jamie Tabor QC agreed and remanded Russell in custody till October 7, telling him he will get maximum credit for pleading guilty at the first opportunity.

"You know perfectly well you are likely to go to prison," said the judge. "Don't read anything into the fact that I am ordering a pre sentence report - we just need to know all we can about you."
