PARKING machines have been stolen from a car park in Bourton-on-the-Water.
Bourton Vale Car Park on Station Road, saw three of its four parking machines damaged, with two being taken and one left on the floor in the car park.
Not much money is believed to have been taken during the incident which took place on Monday, as the machines had recently been emptied.
John Hackling, the owner and operator of Bourton Vale Car Park said: "I am gutted, but it is no surprise as it happens all over the place.
"Two of the machines were attacked and taken, then they (the thieves) must have been distracted whilst they were taking the third one.
"The machines were emptied at about 5.30pm so there will have been very little money in the machines.
"The police have taken the attacked machine that was not stolen and are doing their thing, but we will be getting that back tomorrow to see what can be done with it.
"At the moment we are standing guard and monitoring our only working machine, and making sure the customer can pay.
"We are getting by as best we can."
"Each of the ticket machines cost £3000 each before you even consider costs of building work.
The theft took place at around 11.50pm on Monday.
A number of masked men were seen in the car park in two 4x4 cars, one of which had a trailer attached.
